Safety
Tips: For children 3 and under, do not use foam, yarn or other craft
supplies that could be choking hazards. Keep caps and other small objects
up and away from children's area. Allow children to use child-safety
scissors only, and only if they have the skills. Closely supervise children
at all times.

With Flag Craft - Print and make copies of craft pages. Cut apart
bear pattern pieces. Arrange all pieces on foam sheet trace pattern
pieces. (You can color face piece and glue
it onto foam, if you don't want to draw on face). Cut out foam pieces. Glue flag centered on top of bear's chest. Glue paws on top of flag. Idea: Glue craft onto notebook cover.

Flag Crafts for Kids - Girl and Boy Bear Patriotic Paper Doll Crafts - Print
and make copies of bears and clothes. (Make copies of bear onto card stock).
Color bear. Place sheet of contact paper over it. Cut it out. Color
and cut out clothes. Place restickable glue on the back of clothes. Allow
to dry. Stick to bear. Make more clothes of your own design by tracing
bear's body, or trace the clothes provided to make some more with the
same outline. |

Craft - Print and make copies of craft
pages. Cut apart rectangle piece with stars in it from the rest of the
craft page. (The rest of the pictures will be used in other crafts). Color
or paint the craft pages. Cut out. Glue square with stars on it onto
square space on flag picture. Use the paper towel roll for the stick
or make your own stick by cutting a 3/4" - 1" strip of cardboard.
Roll the tab of the flag around paper towel roll or strip of cardboard.
Glue it down. How
to Use: 1) Group project: Make a holiday classroom mural: Combine flags
with the bear paper dolls, or other animals on this website. Each child
writes their name on their flag and their animals. Glue them all on
a large sheet of paper that is taped up on the wall. Let your mural
'tell a story'. 2) Use your flag in a parade.

Napkin Holder: Print
and make copies of craft page.
(Make copies of the flag page onto card stock, unless you will glue
it to cardboard after coloring). Color or paint the both pages. Cut
out all pieces. Cut apart flag napkin holder on the cut line. Turn both
pieces of the napkin holder right-side-up. The page that says, "God
Bless the USA" goes in the front (sample is wrong). Fold the tab back. The Flag piece with the stars goes in the back. Fold that
one up towards you. Place glue on space that says "glue".
Place the front piece's folded-back tab on top of that. Glue bear pieces
onto cardboard. (optional) Cut out.

craft pages. Make copies of Puppy onto card stock (if not using cardboard).
Cut apart the flag you want to use from the flag page, or use cloth
flag instead. Cut
apart puppy stand from page 2. Color or paint the puppy and flag. Glue puppy picture onto cardboard (optional). Cut out. Use
stand pattern to trace and cut a stand from cardboard. Make Stand:
Fold back tabs on both sides of front stand on elephant. Staple the back stand to those tabs. It will bend in a half-circle shape. Hole
punch two holes on top and bottom of hands (by crossmarks). Flag:
Place glue on popsicle stick . Wrap the tab on the left side of the flag
around the popsicle stick and glue it in place. Insert flag under and up through the punched holes. Patriotic Puppy
makes a great centerpiece for a holiday table |

Flag Craft For Kids - Patriotic Bear Card - Print Patriotic Bear
Card and make copies onto card stock. Cut apart stars and square with words from Page 2. (The stands will be used
in other crafts), and small stars from page 3 (if you are using them). Color or paint all pictures. Cut out star and square, and
small stars (or use small star as a pattern to cut stars out of foam sheets
or construction paper; or add star stickers to picture. Glue square
with words on the back of the star. Glue bear picture onto cardboard
or construction paper (optional). Trim edges. Adult: Cut around
bear's lower paw from cross mark to cross mark. Insert star under lower
paw. Glue or staple star to paw. Write your own holiday greeting on the
bear (the part that is behind the star). Write names in the to: and from:
spaces. Idea: This card can also be used as an invitation to holiday
parties and events. Instead of using the square with the rhyme on it,
you can write the info for your party or event (date, time, address, etc.)
on another square, or just on the back of the star, or on the bear instead. |

Stars
and Stripes Puppy Wreath Craft - Print and make
copies of craft page. Color or paint the puppy. Cut out puppy and stars -or use one of the
stars as a pattern and cut out of foam sheets or construction paper. Use
ovals as patterns. First cut the largest oval out of foam. Cut
off the line closest to the outside from the oval pattern piece, and cut
that smaller oval out of foam, and so on until all the ovals are cut out
of foam. You should have 4 when you are finished. Adult: Cut around puppy's arms, in between the cross marks. Glue successively
smaller ovals on top of each other, (centered) to make wreath. Glue the
stars on top of that. Cut a slit across bottom of smallest oval.
Insert puppy in that, with arms hanging over the front. Make bow from yarn into ribbon and staple to front. Hole punch top of wreath
and use yarn to hang. |
