How To Play:

• Hide all the groundhogs in the playground or yard.

• If a child is not finding any, "help" him, giving hints of where to look.

• When all of groundhogs are found, tell the kids the game is over.

• They can exchange their groundhogs for the prize that it says on the back.

• Suggest that they share their prizes with those who didn't find many groundhogs, if they found a lot of groundhogs (depending on their ages...will work better with older kids).

Prepare for the game:

Print the Pin the Candy on The Groundhog Game Page . Color with markers or crayons.

• Get a corkboard (with a hanger on the back) that is bigger than the game, some thumbtacks and a bandana (or hair band) for a blindfold.

• Cut circles out of construction paper about the size of the piece of candy on the game page.

• Have prizes on hand (toys, candy, stickers, etc.)

• Hang the corkboard with the picture of the groundhog on it at the children's eye level in the classroom.

How To Play the Game:

• Have the children form a line. Let the children take turns. Blind fold the child. Turn him around a few times to get him a little disoriented. Have him try to pin the candy on top of the candy that the groundhog is holding.

• Give prizes for the ones who get is somewhere on the candy in the picture. Also award prizes for those who get it close, or those who at least make it on the groundhog. Decide ahead of time, what each attempt will be rewarded. Have extra prizes on hand for those who didn't get any prizes.
