Devotion - God gave me special abilities!

Hi! My name Randy Reindeer! I came over to Bible Kids Fun Zone to tell you about the special abilities God gave you!

Mark your Bible with the Bible Verse: Exodus 35:31-33

I'm sure you've heard the story about the famous reindeer - Can you guess? You know....Rudolph. Yes, that's who I'm talking about. I'm sure you remember the story - how he didn't like his big, red, nose that was so bright. And how all the other reindeers made fun of him and laughed at him. And, you know how, at the end of the story, his big, bright red nose was just what Santa needed to lead the sleigh! Santa needed his special ability on that snowy night to take the Christmas presents to all the children. Well, that's just a make-believe story.

But, that its really true that we all have special abilities? That's right. God gives us all special abilities. Our Bible tells us this: (Read Exodus: 3531-33).The Bible verses above tell us about Bezalel, who was an artist. And verse 33 tells us about Oholiab, who had special abilities to teach. God gave both of them special abilties. And did you know that God has something special planned for us to do with the special abilities that he gives us? That's right. He wants you to use your abilities to praise him. God likes it when we use our special abilities do good things and love others.

You may not know what your special abilities are yet. But, God gave all of us special abilties to do special things. And, as you grow up, he will help you learn what those special things are. Maybe you can draw well. Maybe you are a good builder. Maybe you sing 'Jingle Bells' better than anyone you know. Some people are good at sports. Some people are good with their hands. Some people are good at writing stories. Maybe your special ability is helping others. Or maybe you like to be a leader.

Even if you don't know what you are good at yet...that's ok. As you try different things, you will find out what you are good at. Don't worry if you are not good at everything. Nobody is good at everything. God is the one who decides what our special abilities are. And he gives you the best ones for you.

So, this Christmas season, think about what your special abilities could be. Pray and ask God to help you know what your special abilities are. And, be sure to thank him for giving you your special abilities.

Aren't you glad God gave you special abilities to praise him? Me too. Let's use our special abilities to praise him.
