Donkey Mask Craft page (print on card stock if you don't want to glue it to cardboard). Note: You may need to enlarge or reduce picture depending on age/size of children. Lightweight cardboard / posterboard Crayons, markers or paint. Hole punch Scissors. Glue Sticks or paste. String or yarn. Ideas for using Mask: Adult or child wears mask to tell the story/poem: Little Donkey From Palm Sunday -(Palm Sunday story told from the donkey's point of view). You'll find this, along with other crafts, in the Palm Sunday Fun Pack! Play: Act out the Palm Sunday Bible story using the donkey mask. The "donkey" gets on all fours, and gives person dressed up as Jesus a ride. Other actors dress as Bible Times peopls and swing palm branches and lay down old coats to make a path for "Jesus on the donkey" as they shout and sing praises to "Jesus". Story that rhymes, with pages to color, told from a "Bible Times" child's point of view is also in the Palm Sunday Fun Pack! This story based on the Bible Palm Sunday story could also be acted out with the same characters. |
Color donkey mask and ears. Glue entire mask to cardboard (optional). Ears don't need to be glued to cardboard. Cut out mask. Glue ears to the top of the donkey's head on the tabs where it says "glue". Cut ovals out of eyebrows (that is where the child looks through the mask). Punch holes on the tabs on sides of mask. Cut string of needed length (8-10" each side). Tie strings on each side of mask. To wear mask, line up holes on the eyebrows of donkey mask with the eyes of the child. Cut bigger holes if needed. |
